How can textile wastewater be turned into reusable process water instead of being discharged?
For one of our clients in Jordan, we developed recently a Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) solution designed to recover water from a high-salinity wastewater stream and return it back to the production process.
The system is based on a three-effect evaporation process, where vapour from each stage is reused as heating energy for the next one. This helps reduce steam consumption and improves the overall energy efficiency of the process.
After evaporation, the recovered condensate is collected as clean process water. The remaining concentrated brine is then treated in an Agitated Filter, where the final moisture is removed, and dissolved salts are converted into solid crystals.
Key result:
Up to 14,000 kg/h of clean process water can be recovered.
This means:
- lower freshwater consumption
- almost no liquid discharge
- recovery of valuable process water
- dry solid salt as final residue
- and better use of thermal energy
For us, ZLD is not only about wastewater treatment.
It is about creating a more efficient process where water and energy are recovered and reused instead of being lost.
